Donations
Donation by the Cockermouth Community Hospital League of Friends to our Nurses
The Nursing Team at Castlegate and Derwent Surgery were delighted to accept a kind donation of Doppler Equipment that will provide better care for our patients.
We are now able to offer our patients a more comprehensive service to measure Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) otherwise known as Dopplers.
This is due to the generosity of the Cockermouth Community Hospital League of Friends who have recently presented us with an automated machine and two hand held machines.
Measuring blood pressures in this way leads to more effective management of conditions such as leg ulcers which in turn reduces pain, healing time and risk of infection but also increasing mobility and skin health.
