We have seen an increase in the number of calls we are receiving about suspected Scarlet Fever. Some of the common symptoms include:

  • Fever over 38.3C or higher.
  • White coating on the tongue which may peel a few days later, leaving the tongue looking red and swollen.
  • Swollen glands in the neck.
  • Feeling tired and unwell.
  • Flushed red face, but pale around the mouth.
  • Peeling skin on the fingertips, toe and groin area, as rash fades.
